Chef Richard comes to the Merrill Magee with a rich background. He received his degree in culinary arts from Culinary Arts in Baltimore. Chef Richard started his eclectic career learning and perfecting Italian cuisine then on to the Caribbean for several years, and now in the Adirondacks.

Chef Richard strives to use quality local products in his creations and draws inspiration from the rich local farming community to add dimension to his menus. He considers our restaurant/tavern a bistro style and we like to call it a “dining experience”. Everything is unique, full of flavor with excellent presentation.

Richard has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers. Some highlights are being on “Live with Regis” and PBS’s “Roadside Recipes”. He has had featured articles in “Adirondack Life”, the “Watertown Times” and “Chocolatier Magazine” and most recently the “Chronicle”.

He is also an oenophile. His love of wine has brought numerous Wine Spectator Awards for the establishments he has worked in.

We are very pleased and honored to have him here at the Merrill Magee.
